Visual Elements is a experimental photography series looking at the naturally occurring patterns within nature. These patterns are abstracted through the lens, mirrored to appear fragmented and displaced. This small spherical distortion plays with the idea of space, confining an element of nature whilst appearing planetary and containing a world of it’s own creation.
The cyanotype versions within this series enhance the element of distortion and increase the contrast through the use of pure colour. These images are transformed, appearing to have a fluidity and spontaneity that is more often attributed to painted or drawing. Each image has the element of containment, but it holds something that is much larger than its original form.
